Emmanuel Babayaro named new Kaduna United general manager


The former goalkeeper has been engaged by the Kaduna state government to oversee the Crocodiles in the next three years in the second tier league
Governor Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna State has appointed former Nigeria international goalkeeper Emmanuel Babayaro as the new general manager of Kaduna United till 2018.

Emmanuel, who is the older brother of former Chelsea and Newcastle United defender Celestine Babayaro, recently signed a three years consensual contract with the state government on behalf of the Friends of Football Foundation, (FFF).

Confirming toGoal, the media officer of the Crocodiles, Jide Bodunde said the 1996 Olympic Games gold medalist has resumed duty and already began holding meetings with players and officials of the club.

According to Bodunde, the former Plateau United goalkeeper is expected to set up an advisory board to oversee Kaduna United in the next three years.

As part of the contract, Emmanuel will be reponsible for sponsorship of the 2010 Federation Cup winners and expected to make availiable to the state government its annual financial report.

The 38-year-old has been saddled with the responsiblity to steer to success the Nigerian National League outfit, who were relegated from the topflight in 2014 due to administrative and financial crisis.

Until his new appointment, Emmanuel was the owner of the Pioneers Academy
